Magic mostly comes in threes, so I write this career love letter to three kick-ass women I have worked with, who demonstrate on a daily basis a type of emergent leadership that is about empathy, strength and mutual admiration. 

To Lea Simpson (founder of Brink) you taught me that a leader is in service of their team.
A good boss works FOR their team not the other way around. Work feels like play with Lea, and in the innovation space this is so important. 

To Fran Samalionis (co-founder Thinking Design) who enthralled me with her extraordinary confident command of a room and delight in a solving a wicked problem with a smile on her face. 

Empathy is a hugely underestimated quality in design, and women have so much to give. 

And to Lisa MacCallum (Inspired Companies) who showed me how to bring a team on a journey with you, aligning them to a common purpose and lighting the fire in their bellies. 

Working with these women has been an incredible privilege. 
You are driven to want to excel for them. And they are accessible and generous with their praise in return. 

I feel fortunate to have had some inspiring male leaders too. But I sense a door is opening for a new way. And the world needs it now more than ever.
